Police Stood By As Two Banks Robbed

2 banks were robbed in the central Swedish town of Charlottenberg Monday, and it took police over half an hour to get to the crime scene, even though there is a police station in the town.

The bank robbers used guns and explosives to get the cash, but no-one was harmed in the incidents, but they did get away with a considerable sum of money local sources say.

The local police didn’t hear about the robberies straight away, but then left the station to watch what was going on. Local police chief Per-Arne Eriksson said they were plain clothed officers, so they weren’t allowed to intervene, having to wait for uniformed colleagues to take up the chase.
