Boat Strike Off, Nurses Strike Continues.

The ferryboat captain’s strike which disrupted passenger boat traffic in Stockholm and Gothenburg for the best part of two weeks has been called off, after an agreement was reached with the employers association Almega.

The Swedish Ship Officers Association had gone on strike over pay and as a result a fleet of boats used to ferry passengers to and from the archipelagoes in Stockholm and Gothenburg remained out of use.

The boats were operating again on Sunday after mediators brokered a deal on Saturday.

No such sign of an end for the nurses who entered their sixth week of strike action today.

Talks resumed on Monday after late night meetings on Sunday.
