EU supports Stockholm Iraq Conference
Ahead of the Iraq Conference in Stockholm, the foreign ministers of the European Union have agreed on a joint Iraq policy.
Sweden’s Foreign Minister Carl Bildt told Swedish Radio news that his 26 European colleagues have unanimously expressed their willingness to support the Iraq Conference which will be held in Stockholm on Thursday.
After the internal division of the EU because of the Iraq war in 2003, the European Union has finally come back to a unitary policy when it comes to dealing with the war-torn nation, Bildt added.
The foreign ministers have agreed on 12 main issues to be dealt with in order to help turning Iraq into a stable, secure, democratic and unified country.
