Fashion Crazy Swedes

Swedes are fashion crazy, if you believe the latest sales figures for 2007 at least. Swedes bought clothes, accessories and shoes for a total value of 12.5 billion US dollars last year, that’s up 6 percent compared to 2006, and up 81 percent since 1996.

Maya Saksi from the fashion industry magazine Habit which collated the figures says that March and the rainy summer were the best times for fashion retailers, while sales slowed down in the Autumn. Sales are also slower this year, and she doesn’t expect 2008 to go down in the record books.
