The conference is being held in Northern Stockholm

Iraqi Ministers On Their Way to Stockholm

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and other top ministers from the Iraqi government are arriving in Sweden ahead of a international conference in Sweden aimed at bolstering Iraq’s economic and political stability Thursday.

Also expected to attend are the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice as well as hundreds of other delegates. But there has been criticism here that no representatives of Kurdish leaders in the north of the country will be attending. Swedish police are preparing for demonstrations against the US invasion of Iraq, but say that otherwise they do not expect any trouble at the conference.
