The homeowners’ magazine “Vi i villa” has compared the housing dreams of 20,000 people in the Nordic countries. While there are many similarities, such as a general desire for a nice view, and a location on the coast, there are some differences as well.
Finns want a sauna and Swedes some kind of spa, while in Norway it’s important to have a double garage. Danes think a new kitchen and bathroom is more important than the glassed in veranda for chilly winter evenings favored by those living farther north.
Norwegians like their houses to be painted white, while the other Scandinavians prefer red.
