Delayed travellers in Stockholm Wednesday evening

Forest Fires Close Rail Lines

Rail traffic in part of western Sweden resumed early Thursday morning after being closed for a number of hours because of forest fires.

Some 15 trains between Stockholm and Gothenburg were affected as several thousand travellers were forced to switch to buses for the stretch between Herrljunga and Falköping.

Buses also replaced rail traffic farther south between Mjölby and Tranås because of forest fires in that area.
