Asylum Seekers to Receive Acute Medical Care

Under the new laws, asylum seekers are granted the right to access of acute medical treatment.

They will also be able to receive preventative healthcare to stop an existing illness from getting worse.

The government have received strong criticism, however, as people with no identity documents are still not included in the bill.

Although hospitals are not allowed to deny these people treatment for severe illnesses, the patients themselves must pay for the cost of the care they receive.
