They Might Be Free But Are They Any Good?

They are a usual sight at every subway station in Stockholm: free newspapers. Until recently, Stockholm’s commuters could choose between three different free editions - Metro, Stockholm City and Punkt SE. But with the competition on the newspaper market getting tougher, the latter was cancelled in May. Now merely Metro and Stockholm City fight for their share of readers. And the question is: do free newspapers that basically rely on ads necessarily have to be bad journalistic products?
