Stockholm Jazz Festival in its 25th Year

This year’s Stockholm jazz festival  celebrating its 25th anniversary with performances on the waterfront of a downtown city island, at the museum of modern art, a suburban park and a prestigious downtown jazz club rich in musical history.

Many breathed a sigh of relief that this festival could take place again this year – after worries about past debts and low ticket sales when heavy rains splashed down on the open air performances.

And despite some rain this year again alternating with sunshine into the late evening hours – the festival attracted large and enthusiastic crowds and much praise from the music critics – with rhythms ranging from the smooth and sophisticated to the raw and powerful.
