More Refugees Denied Asylum in Sweden

New statistics confirm a general tightening on granting asylum to refugees in Sweden.

In the first half of this year 5,000 would-be refugees have been denied asylum in Sweden - 600 more than all of last year.

Many of these are from Iraq.

In the same period, over 7,000 refugees have appealed the negative decision - compared to 8000 for all of last year.
