Depression Increases Chance of a Stroke

Depressed, elderly  patients have a much greater chance of having a stroke – according to studies carried out at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in the Swedish west coast city of Gothenburg.

The study covered 400 patients aged 85 and concluded that the 18% suffering from depression had 3 times greater chances of getting a stroke than those without depressions.
