Europride Comes to Town

Europride kicks off in the capital on Friday.

Stockholm have really embraced the festival this year with buses and squares flying the rainbow flag.

The Homosexual, Bisexual and Transgender festival is hosted by a different European city each year and Stockholm’s last Europride was 10 years ago.

The theme this year is ’Swedish Sin, Breaking Borders’ with the focus on the international HBT community.

Music, debates and theatre are just some of the events held at Pride House and Pride Park during the 10 day festival. Last year, half a million people watched the final parade through the city.

The Stockholm Police have met with political groups that are against the message of the festival to minimise confrontation during the event.
