More Women Join Police Academies

The number of women applying to the National Police Academy has risen in Sweden, but only a smaller proportion actually get a place.

These are the latest figures from the Swedish National Police Board, report news agency TT.

Last autumn, the school year group was 34 percent women and rose to 42 percent this spring.

The government are to reach a decision on changes to police training in the autumn.
