Swede in Rescue Efforts After K2 Avalanche

Swedish mountain climber Fredrik Sträng is credited with the heroic feat of helping bring injured and dead down from the K2 mountain between China and Pakistan  – after an avalanche claimed at least 11 lives with 8 badly wounded.

The Swede says the high casualty rate is explained by so many people trying at the same time to climb what is considered the world’s most difficult peak – and the lack of experience of some of the climbers.
