Sweden May Send Peace Keeping Troops to Georgia

Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt says he will recommend to the Swedish government to contribute to a European Union peace keeping force for the break-away provinces of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in Georgia.

This comes after a meeting of European Union foreign ministers in Brussels, where it was agreed that the EU should play a central roll if the UN Security Council decides to send peace keeping forces to the region.
