Swedish Budget Lacks Plan for Surplus

Swedish national auditors are criticizing the center-right government for not making it clear what it plans to do with the large budget surplus.

The auditors add that this is a serious failing and could mean that the tax payers might pay too much in taxes – and that a government has to have a well-balanced and long-term policy for making good use of tax income.

The report provides some compensation by concluding that the present coalition is doing a better job in this area than the former Social Democratic government.
