New Rules For Foreign Workers Proposed

The Swedish government wants to introduce new rules for foreign workers, which will make it possible for asylum seekers who have had their applications refused, to stay in Sweden if they already have a job.

The proposal will be put forward to the Swedish Parliament this Autumn, with the new rules expected to go into effect in December. The Swedish Migration Board estimates that around 8000 asylum seekers will apply for work permits next year.
