More Funds for Job Safety, Less for Biological Diversity

Leaks from preparations for the coming fall budget from the center-right coalition government indicate that there will be more money to combat fatal accidents at the work place here in Sweden.

Government sources say they want to crack down on worker’s failure to use safety helmets and life lines. There were 120 fatalities at the factories and construction sites last year here.

Another tip is that there will be less money for preserving forest areas and saving biological diversity.   The government seems split over the cuts – with the liberal party insisting that this should remain a high priority.
