Bildt to UN

Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt is in New York to attend the general debate of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to a press release from the foreign ministry, Bildt’s schedule includes bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Iran, Pakistan, Macedonia, Colombia, and Jordan.

Along with his Norwegian colleague Jonas Gahr Störe, Bildt will also chair a symposium on freedom of expression at the International Peace Institute.

On Monday the Swedish foreign minister is attending a meeting of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee on the international coordination of assistance to the Palestinian territories. Sweden is one of the major contributors of aid to the Palestinians, with more than 100 million dollars donated this year.
