Lund Might Get Giant European Microscope

Scientists in the southern Swedish city of Lund say they have a good chance to win the European competition to host a giant microscope thanks to joint European co-operation.

The other competitors are Bilboa in Spain and Debrecen in Hungary.

The scientists say the nearness to Copenhagen with all its communications gives the Swedes a better chance – making this a world center for the study of matter – and that the huge microscope may help them find things we’ve never even dreamed about.
