Finance Minister Anders Borg

Borg Wants EU Flexibility

Swedish Finance Minister Anders Borg wants the European Union countries to have a common position during the upcoming meetings on the international financial crisis.

But speaking to Swedish Radio News, Borg doesn’t want a common EU policy on support for troubled banks.

“Each country should take the measures it thinks necessary,” the Swedish finance minister says.

“Swedish and German tax-payers won’t accept paying for other countries’ mistakes.”
