Time for a new strategy - Alliance leader Fredrik Reinfeldt

Alliance parties discuss election strategy

Leading politicians of the center-right coalition are meeting in Varberg on Monday and Tuesday to discuss a joined strategy for the election campaign of 2010. The four party-secretaries of the Alliance are dealing with key issues like taxes, unemployment and health care.

Recent opinion polls show waning support for the coalition parties.  They are now trailing the opposition by 13 percent. The smallest alliance partner, the Christian Democratic Party, has dropped below the four-percent threshold, the minimum required to gain access to Sweden’s parliament.
