Migration Board hires private consultants to streamline procedures

In an effort to improve its efficiency the Migration Board has hired a private consulting firm to streamline routine procedures. Migration Board director Dan Eliasson told daily Dagens Nyheter that this appeared necessary after failing to shorten the time to review applications for political asylum to under six months.

Eliasson said that the average time to reach a decision is now nine months. He said that this was not fair to applicants in need of a swift answer.
