Coalition Prepares 2010 Platform

The four parties in Sweden’s coalition government wound up a two day meeting in Varberg in western Sweden Tuesday, in which they planned continued cooperation.

They are working to draft a common platform or manifesto before the 2010 elections.

At a press conference, the leaders of the conservative Moderate, Center, Liberal, and Christian Democrat parties said they had agreed to set up working groups for the platform and for economic policies.

They are hoping to turn around the 15 percentage point lead of the Social Democrat-led opposition in the opinion polls.
