Hanna Ljungberg Quits National Side

One of Sweden’s most prominent women footballers, Hanna Ljungberg, has announced she is quitting international football. Ljungberg had to pull out of the Olympics earlier this year because of a hamstring injury.

She will however keep playing in her league team, Umeå. She told local newspaper Umeå Dagbladet that she wants to give football 100 percent, and to do that she has to be fit. She adds that she wants to start studying again, and quitting the national side will give her time to do other things.

Ljungberg has played 130 in the national side, and scored 72 goals.
