Ghost of FRA Law Still Haunts Alliance

The centre-right government’s handling of a controversial surveillance law has damaged its standing among its own grassroots supporters.

That’s according to a survey by Swedish public radio news, who asked over 1000 centre-right politicians around Sweden to rate the government’s performance.

Over half said that the new FRA law, which allows the bugging of telephone and email conversations across Sweden, was handled ’badly’ or ’very badly’.

This despite a similar amount of them being positive towards the FRA law itself.
