Partygoers at Eurovision in Belgrade: Part of human rights struggle?

For many people in Sweden, Serbia conjures up images of violence and warfare not only in more recent decades of Balkan turmoil but stretching back long into European history. But one of the biggest fights there at the moment is over human rights.

At the Stockholm office of the Swedish Helsinki Human Rights Committee a Swedish journalist and author whio lives in Belgrade and writes about the human rights struggles in Serbia, and a Serbian activist often on the barricades at home but now visiting the Swedish capital in search of contacts and solidarity, spoke of the fight for the right to free speech.
