Budget Surplus Helps Reduce National Debt

Swedish public finances showed a surplus of almost 17 billion dollars last year. The National Debt Office announced in Stockholm that he gains were chiefly due to selling several state-run enterprises such as Vin och Sprit, the country’s alcohol trading company.

Sweden’s national debt was reduced last year by six billion dollars to a total of 138 billion.
