A Swedish family returning from a Christmas/New year holiday break received the surprise of their life this week.
The aftonbladet newspaper reports that the family, from Skåne in the south of Sweden, came home to discover that they’d won 13 and a half million dollars on the lottery.
The family were reading old newspapers from the holiday period when they saw that state lottery company Svenska Spel were still looking for the winners of their 110 million kronor jackpot. The husband then found and checked his old lottery ticket only to see the winning numbers.
After recovering from the shock, the lucky winners said they would immediately spend some of their winning on renovating the kitchen, and would maybe buy a new sofa.
