Sahlin to Visit Russia and Georgia

The leader of the Swedish Social Democratic party, Mona Sahlin, will visit Russia and Georgia on January 22 -24, according to Swedish News Bureau TT.

In Moscow, she will meet with Russian foreign minister Sergej Lavrov as well as with the speaker of the Russian parliament. Further she plans to visit the newspaper Novaja Gazeta and an Ikea store in the area.

While in Georgia, Sahlin will meet with Georgian president Saakasjvili, with members of the Opposition, as well as with Swedes working as EU observers on the border between Georgia and the breakaway republic South Ossetia.
