Swedish Vicars Positive to Gay Marriage
Almost 7 out of 10 Swedish vicars are positive to perform the marriage ceremony for gay couples if a new law is passed by Parliament.
According to a poll carried out by Swedish TV News Rapport, 68 % of the 2800 participants answered that they would be willing, while 21% said they wouldn’t. The rest, 11%, chose not to answer the question.
According to Rapport, several of those reluctant to perform the ceremony claim that those who didn’t answer may have been afraid of repercussions – or not being able to find a job in the future.
