Great Tits Top Swedish Winter Bird List

For the 4th year in a row, Swedish ornithologists have been making winter bird counts of those feathered creatures who refrain from flying south to avoid the ice and snow.

Leading the population number wise - the great tit, with its black cap and collar, white cheeks and yellow belly, one of the most frequent visitors to those dangling balls of seeds and wax placed outdoors by those Swedes eager to give their flying friends an extra boost during the winter months.
