Gothenburg Port to Re-route Cars

Swedish’s west coast port of Gothenburg has received a major order to handle the re-shipping of thousands of cars and other vehicles from Asia and the United States to other markets in Russia and Finland.

The order means that some 110,000 vehicles earlier shipped via German and Belgium ports will now be coming through Sweden.

Port authorities here insist that this is not expected to create new jobs here - but will help off-set the effects of the sluggish economy.
