Swedish MP to Kosovo

Swedish MP Björn von Sydow is being sent to Kosovo this week on EU business. The aim of the trip is to review how human rights issues are being dealt with in the area.

Björn von Sydow, formerly speaker for the Swedish Parliament and Minister of Defence, will report back to the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) on the situation and how it could be improved.

While in Kosovo, von Sydow will meet with UN representatives, with security organisations as well as with the Kosovan prime minister, the speaker of the parliament and representatives of both Kosovan political parties and of the Serbian enclaves.
