Massive Gains for Central Bank

Sweden’s Central Bank has achieved one of its best results ever in 2008. While dozens of banks have fallen victim to the global financial crisis, the Swedish Riksbank gainmed a surplus of roughly 700 million dollars, according to the annual report published in Stockholm on Monday.

Most of the profit will be transferred to the state’s budget, a bank spokesman said.
