Jonsson Keeps Points Lead

Swedish biathlete Helena Jonsson kept her points lead in the overall world cup competition despite a modest 12th place finish in Sunday’s mass start race in Trondheim.

Jonsson’s main rival, German Kati Wilhelm, finished fifth and reduced the points difference to 22, with three of the season’s races remaining. Local fans meanwhile were elated with Sunday’s victory of Norwegian Tora Berger.

Stock car driver Rickard Rydell scored his first victory of the year in the WTCC championship race in Puebla, Mexico, on Sunday. The former Volvo pilot is driving for SEAT this season.
