Ericsson 4 Leads Round the World Race

The sixth stage of the Volvo Ocean Race around the world got underway Saturday, as the teams left Rio de Janeiro for Boston.

In the lead is Sweden’s Ericsson 4, winner of the first two stages. Another Swedish yacht, Ericsson 3, is in fourth place.

The 4900 nautical mile leg to Boston is expected to take 15 days. The 10 stage round the world race is scheduled to end in St. Petersburg, Russia on June 27th.
