Walpurgis Eve Celebrations in Sweden

April 30th is Walpurgis Eve – the traditional day to watch winter vanish and the arrival of spring – a day of bonfires once driving off the witches, demons and predators hungrily eyeing the livestock released from the barns.

Also, family get-togethers, a flood of alcohol especially among the youngsters and music sung by those male university and other choirs.
