The Swedish National Tax Board says that nearly 4 million Swedes took advantage of the opportunity to file their income tax returns electronically this year.
May 4th was the final date to file individual tax returns in this country. According to the tax authority about half of those who could choose to file online, via SMS text messaging or over the telephone. That’s 9 percent more than last year.
Those who file electronically get refunds back sooner, but all they can do is approve the authorities’ figures. To register special deductions, tax-payers have to resort to using paper.
