A woman has lost a job as an apprentice at a Swedish funeral parlor, to some extent at least because she’s a medium.
Ann-Marie Hedin had been offered the spot at the Fonus funeral parlor in Uppsala in April. But, she tells the newspaper “Uppsala Nya Tidning”, when the chain’s regional head heard that she is an internationally certificated medium, the offer was withdrawn.
Fonus’ head of information Bo Forslund says Hedin’s spiritual interests may have played a role in the decision, but he tells the newspaper the main reason was problems with her pay subsidy from the public employment agency.
Ann-Marie Hedin was unsuccessfully involved in the search for the body of a murdered girl a year ago. (gw)
