Another survey indicates that young Swedish voters are often unaware that there’s an election to the European Parliament this year.
The survey, carried out by Novus Opinion for a get out the vote campaign, shows that 44 percent of Swedes aged between 18 and 28 don’t know about the election. However, that’s still higher than in previous polls, when only one out of three was aware of the June 7 election.
Thirty-seven pecent said they will definitely vote, and another 32 percent said they might.
The most important issue among young people was employment, followed by economy and the financial crisis, and environment and climate issues. File-sharing and the Internet came in 10th place out of the 16 issues surveyed. (gw)
