Police Upset By Fake Carrot Bombs

Police in the Swedish town of Örebro were called out to the town centre's library on Saturday after receiving a call that there were two bombs on the premises.

On closer inspection, what appeared to be sticks of dynamite were in fact carrots bound together by tape with a digital clock on the front. The suspect "carrot packages" were part of an art project called "open art" which is going on all over the town.

The police took away the two carrot bombs and later received calls about more suspect bombs. After talking to Conny Blom, the artist responsible, police discovered that 16 packages had been produced.

The Head of Art in the town Mats Nilsson said that the police had overreacted.

"Everyone who sees it can see that it's fake. The police were informed about this earlier."
