Several Detained in Uyghur Protest

Several people were taken into custody by the Swedish police in Stockholm Thursday afternoon as up to 200 Uyghur, Tibetans and Mongols protested against the violence in the Chinese region of Xinjiang.

Some burned and stamped on the Chinese flag before making their way to the Chinese embassy.

Sweden, as current president of the European Union, has previously expressed its regret at the violence in the autonomous province between Uyghurs and ethnic Chinese groups.
