Two passenger ferries collided Thursday morning in the waters outside Nynäshamn, just south of Stockholm. In thick fog the departing M/S Gotland crashed into the smaller HSC Gotlandia 2 while it was docking.
According to local rescue services, at least 15 people were injured, five seriously enough to be taken to the hospital.
The Destination Gotland ferries operate on the route between Nynäshamn and Visby on the Baltic island of Gotland, a popular holiday destination for many Swedes. Almost 2000 passengers are believed to have been onboard the ferries when the crash occurred.
