June saw NATO exercise Loyal Arrow in the far north of Sweden

Toxic Training in Uppsala

The summer has already seen soldiers from many countries training in the North. Now neutral Sweden is to host another exercise by the military alliance NATO. This time it's the university town of Uppsala that is to be the scene of the operation known as Toxic Trip in September. This will be the first time it has been held in a non-NATO country.

The main aim is to give troops practice at detecting radiation and dealing with its effects, reports Radio Uppland. The exercise will involve 180 people from France, Denmark, the USA, Czech Republic, Germany and Turkey, as well as Sweden.
