Thomas Quick

New Trial in Sight

Thomas Quick who has been sentenced to life for having killed 8 people might face a new trial in at least one of the cases he is in prison for. On Monday the office of the public prosecutor announced it will not oppose to a retrial.

The prosecutor cites differences in the evaluation of evidence. Both police investigators and the district court had taken evidence into account differently than one would do today, the office of the public prosecutor says. Earlier this year, Thomas Quick had taken back some of the confessions he made during the investigations in the 1990s and applied for a new trial.
