More Young Swedish Men Abuse Alcohol

A new report from the Swedish health authorities claims that the number of young men here drinking dangerous amounts of alcohol has doubled in recent years - while the number is decreasing for young women.

The report says 13 % of the men between 25 and 29 in Sweden now drink the equivalent of 14 glasses of alcohol a week - while young women drinking 9 or more glasses has gone down from 10 to 8 %.

The increase is explained by the relatively cheaper price of alcohol these days and the easier accessibility - with more bars and cafés open later at night.
