updated 5:01 PM

Sweden’s King Carl Gustaf and Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon inaugurated marine national parks on each side of their countries' waters on Wednesday.

The Kosterhavet park is Sweden's first national marine park ever, and adjoins Norway’s Ytre Hvaler marine park. The area is home to more than 6,000 marine species, 200 of which cannot be found anywhere else in Sweden.
