Krona Continues to Strengthen

The Swedish Krona is continuing to strengthen against the British Pound and is now the strongest it has been since 1996, according to Swedish news agency TT.

That's bad news for British tourists planning to visit Sweden, but good news for Swedes, who are now being recommended to travel to the UK to get their Christmas presents.

Both the Krona and the Pound have suffered on the international money markets during the recession, but the positive outlook for the Swedish economy means that the Krona is now doing better against a whole range of currencies.

Swedish bank Nordea forecasts that the Krona will continue to strengthen against the Pound over the foreseeable future. At the end of trading on Tuesday one Pound would buy you 11.12 Kronor. There were over 13 Kronor to the pound just 3 months ago.
